Meet Our Veterinarians
Dawn Erikson Amor, DVM - VeterinarianDr. Dawn Erikson Amor graduated in 1996 from Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine and did her last year of Clinical Rotations at Oklahoma State School of Veterinary Medicine. She is proud to have earned the "Most Compassionate Treatment of Animals Award" and the Hill's Science Diet Foundation Scholarship during her veterinary education.Dr. Amor is entering her 20 th year of practicing Veterinary Medicine and Surgery and loves taking care of patients just as much as she did when she first started out. Dr. Amor practiced at two Small Animal Hospitals in the Hampton Roads area until she started her own business as a Relief Veterinarian, travelling Virginia and filling in for other Veterinarians who were away from their practices. During this time she was looking forward to her goal of owning her own Small Animal Hospital which became a reality in 2003. Dr. Amor and her husband, David Amor (Woodland's Practice Manager) purchased Woodland Veterinary Hospital at that time. The practice is a Small Animal Hospital that was already established for taking great care pf pets in the Newport News Community since 1983. Dr. Amor and David Amor have continued this tradition by striving for excellence in patient and client care at Woodland, and they have a great support staff at the hospital to contribute to this mission!
